Published in Alice Luckhardt's book Stuart: Images of America (2016) with the caption: "Susan Kitching's Necessity Shop was actually located in Broster Kitching's post office building. The shop's sign was often removed and placed in other locations, especially at Halloween, by the local young people."

  • Two bridges: in the front is the old wooden Palm City bridge, built in 1919, which was damaged and rebuilt after at least two hurricanes. In January 1969, construction began on the bridge in the back, a new high-rise bridge, which opened on 4 June 1970, at which time the old bridge was demolished.

Banner reads: "10,000 welcomes, Mayor O'Dwyer & Bride from Martin Co. Chamber of Commerce."
  • Published in the Stuart News, 21 June 1945, with the caption: "Local women serve in nurses aid class. Above, left to right, are Mrs. Cecil Donaldson, Mrs. Anne Heffner, Mrs. Floretta Bartlett, Miss Rose Czverko, Mrs. Elsie LeTourneau and Mrs. Clara Jourdan, members of the Nurses' Aid class of Martin County chapter of the American Red Cross, instructed by Mrs. Anne Shepard. The class was 'capped' May 12, having completed 80 hours of study, and is now helping at Martin County hospital. This is the second nurses aid class instructed by Mrs. Shepard here."
