Group of second graders with their teacher, Mrs. Lowery, inside Bruner's 5 &10 Self Service store filled with toys and other items, with each child holding a lollipop. The owner of the store, J. Herbert Bruner, stands beside Mrs. Lowery. Published in the Stuart News (22 Dec 1955) with the caption: "Mrs. Harris R. Lowery and J.H. Bruner pose with 28 of Mrs. Lowery's 2nd grade pupils from Stuart Elementary School. The class visited Bruner's 5 & 10 cent store toy shop last week as one of its unit of work for a preview of merchandising, selling, wrapping and making change. The work unit correlates reading, writing and spelling with buying and selling."
