Description
Portrait of Joseph Verner Reed in front of a building and landscape bushes. Reed founded the Hobe Sound Company, which developed Jupiter Island and the Jupiter Island Club. Reed and his wife, Permelia Reed are celebrated for their conservation efforts, giving away the north end of Jupiter Island as a nature preserve. Reed was also one of the founders of Martin County Hospital.
