Man seated with a child on his lap is likely Otto Hupfel (1882-1969), who was the first to grow lilies in Martin County and owned a flower farm in Palm City, beginning in the mid-1940s. With the help of his son Richard, H &H Lily Growers became the largest lily growing business in the country by the 1960s. The man on the right is likely Otto's other son, Walter Mott Hupfel (1908-1978), who also worked in the family business and later started his own flower farm on Monterey Road.
