In the background, a small tugboat leads a dredger to the area. In December of 1953, excessive discharge from the St. Lucie Canal created mud shoals making for shallow waters and subsequent waterway traffic issues near Palm City. The Army Corps of Engineers hired contractors to dredge the area and along the St. Lucie River to alleviate the problem in early 1954.

Morrow was commissioned in 1922 and named after a former superintendent of the Arundel Corporation. It was 43 feet long and constructed of cypress; it operated until at least 1962.
