In celebration of the 1925 establishment of Martin County, the town of Stuart hosted a series of events on 28 and 29 January 1926, including a large parade. Governor John Wellborn Martin attended as special guest. -

Float for the Golden Gate Development Company in parade on Flagler Avenue, 28 January 1926.
Float with a chariot, women in Grecian costumes, and paper-mache horses, and sign "Golden Gate." The Golden Gate Development Company built a residential development in Stuart in 1925.

St. Lucie River Yacht Club, c. 1925
Large building on the end of a pier. Built in 1916, the clubhouse was a social center for much of the community until it was demolished in the 1928 hurricane.

High Point Rod and Gun Club, 1931
Built in 1917 by Pennsylvania businessmen after moving the smaller Tyndall house "El Nido" to the side. Purchased in 1925 by Otto and Katherine Schaum. Sold in 1936 to Leonard Fillmore Knowles; however his secretaries, sisters Elsie E. Harrington (b. 1885) and Maude (b. 1892) lived there year round as caretakers and at Knowles' death, he bequeathed the property to them as it became known as "Harrington House." After their death, the property was not occupied and became abandoned.
