  • The Okeehumkee steamboat travels along the Ocklawaha River in Florida. Outfitted with a recessed stern paddle wheel, the Okeehumkee was able to navigate narrow and shallow waterways. The steamboat was built in 1873; it became known as the "Queen of the Ocklawaha River" and remained in service for 43 years.
  • Published in the Stuart News (1 Sep 1955) with caption: "A Memory Of The Old South Squeezes Through Rail Draw. The 87-ft. Memphis Queen is shown as she eased through the railroad bridge draw here Friday morning en route to a brief stay at Gulf Marine Service's dock. Reminiscent of the old South, the stern-wheeler is reputed to have been built in 1840, rebuilt in '28 and will be remodeled in Miami this winter."
  • Memphis Queen stern wheeler on the St. Lucie. The Memphis Queen was originally built in 1840 and rebuilt in 1928. According to the Stuart News (01 Sep 1955), the ship passed through Palm City and Stuart bridges then docked at Gulf Marine Service for a time, before heading to Miami for remodeling.
