Published in the South Florida Developer (13 Aug 1926) with the caption: "Steady progress is being made at St. Lucie [typo omitted] in unloading rock from barges by this steam derrick and transferring it over the railroad pictured here to the ocean front where it is dumped to construct the north jetty. A crew of nearly one hundred men is engaged in this operation and work is being pushed as fast as possible." -

Salvage operations for Hallandale dredge, 1958
The Arundel Corp. Hallandale dredger sank onto its side in May of 1958 off the coast of Hutchinson Island after a fitting broke and mud and water rushed into the vessel. For three months, salvage operations took place until finally, around August 23rd, four massive derricks successfully raised the dredge from the river bottom. -
