Description

Dr. F. B. Eurit and his grandson, Sonny Blakeslee, stand in ocean waters. Handwritten note on front of photo reads "Dr. Eurit & Zola's little boy 'Sonny.' " Dr. Eurit came to Stuart in 1913 and initially worked as a pineapple farmer. In 1914, he established a small doctor's office out of his home and worked with other doctors in the area to provide medical care for the residents of Stuart and the surrounding areas. From around 1918 to 1924, Dr. Eurit became the sole doctor in Stuart when his fellow physicians moved their practices elsewhere.
