In Jan 1921, Samuel Black arrested for dispensing drugs with proper licensing; he was later found guilty, but since no penalty had been specified, he was released. Stanley Kitching's new store was built where Black's drug store had been (set back 35 feet due to the widening of Flagler), and Black reopened his drug store within Kitching's building on the ground floor, with a soda fountain. In 1923, Black and his family moved to Hollywood Florida and opened Hollywood Drug Company, which existed for decades.
