Phipps Estate house, c. 1926

Very similar photo published in the South Florida Developer (13 Aug 1926) has caption: "This attractive bungalow of gray stucco with red tile roof was built by George M. Osborn, general manager of the Mayaca Company, on 'made' land facing Conners Highway and Lake Okeechobee in Port Mayaca. Where this house stands, six months ago was an impenetrable cypress swamp. Today it is the prettiest homesite in the lake region."
