Description

Group of people cross the St. Lucie River on a cable raft to Treasure Island (in Halpatiokee Regional Park in 2026) participate in a "treasure hunt" event intended to spur interest in the River Forest real estate development. The treasure hunt was held on 13 March 1926 on Treasure Island.

Recorded in the Florida Photographic Concern Record Book #2 (PDF p. 61) as "9756=70 Lyons River Forest Views, Stuart, (photographer not listed)"

Photograph commissioned by local realtor, Harry Lyons, who along with his real estate partners established the River Forest Land Syndicate, which began selling parcels of land near the South Fork of the St. Lucie River in 1926.
