A parade of men pulling a truck decorated as a train on Osceola Street, in front of Bess Hardware and Piggly Wiggly. Five men are in striped prisoner outfits, one is in a diaper, one man wears women's underwear and a sash with "Miss America 1949" on it, and two wear military hats. Part of the initiation for the Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses. The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses, founded in 1920, is an honor society for the American Legion, and members must be honorably discharged veterans and invited to join. The ceremony to initiate a new member was known as a "wreck." Scan from low quality print.
