Group gathered for the christening and first launch of the Fran E. boat, belonging to Ralph Evinrude (left in foreground) and Frances Langford (on right in foreground. Langford just finished breaking a bottle of champagne over the boat's bow and holds the leaking champagne over the head of Francesca Lawrence (manager at the Outrigger) as she mimes lapping the liquid up. Launching of the forty-five ton craft drew a crowd." It was a struggle at Oliver Boat Company in North Stuart that took hours and much effort to successfully place the boat on the water. The efforts of the boat launch even attracted a large crowd of onlookers, some even laid out picnic lunches. -
