  • Several people on the beach near Gilbert's Bar and the House of Refuge, looking out at the churned up ocean waters in advance of Hurricane Donna making landfall in Florida. A hurricane warning was issued for Martin County but, Hurricane Donna ended up making landfall in the Keys and again near the Ft. Myers area on September 10, 1960.
