Schilling lives at Jensen Beach. Ross Witham of Stuart received the Conservation Award for his work on sea turtles at the awards session."

  • Harold Russell presents an American Veterans of World War II (AMVETS) Certificate of Merit to Frances Langford "for outstanding service to the organization and to the welfare of our Nation."

    After losing both of his hands during WW II, Russell won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role in the 1946 film, The Best Years of Our Lives. Russell also served three terms as the National Commander for AMVETS.

  • Radio announcer Ken Niles presents Frances Langford with a plaque award from the 1939 Radio Guide's Star of Stars contest, which she was elected the "Favorite Female Singer of Popular Songs" for that year.

  • Jensen Beach Lion's Club award presentation. Wallace G. Gardner stands on a chair as his fellow Lion's Club members present the "Outstanding Lion of the Year" award to him in 1955. According to the Stuart News (8 Dec 1955), a photograph of Gardner receiving the award was published in the Florida Lions Magazine. Gardner served as the club's secretary for several years during the 1950s and 1960s.
  • According to the Stuart News (14 Dec 1950), Ernie Lyons (on right) was awarded the editorial "Oscar" for his editorials, rated as the best of any Florida newspaper in 1950. The editor of Indian River News, Dale Wimbrow presented the award to Lyons during a Stuart Kiwanis Club meeting on December 8, 1950.
  • Published in the Stuart News (13 Dec 1956) with caption " 'Oldest Continuous Resident' Cited. Mrs. Belle S. Ross, Palm City (left), receives a certificate of award from Martin County Historical Society and The Stuart News at ceremonies Sunday at Stuart bandshell. Charles Val Clear (center) master of ceremonies. Ernest F. Lyons (at right) of The News presented the awards. A similar award went to W. L. Fredricksen, Jensen Beach. Mrs. Ross came here in 1890, Fredricksen in 1893." The Palm Beach Air Force band also in view on the stage, performed a concert for the dedication as well.
