Portrait of Frances Langford with boxer dog named Tony, who assisted in WW II war efforts in the South Pacific. According to the typed newspaper note attached to the photograph, Langford advocated for "war dogs" like Tony. Langford and others pushed for the rehabilitation of these "war dogs" with an aim to adopt them out to civilians after their service was completed. -

Peacocks on bridge, 1967
Several peacocks on pedestrian bridge at the Langford-Evinrude property in Jensen Beach.
France Langford first brought two peacocks to her Rio-Jensen property during the 1940s. The peacock population grew over the years from the original set of birds and by the early 2000s more than 100 peacocks lived in and around Langford's estate.
In 2001, after more human residents moved into the area, Langford's peacocks created a bit of local controversy when some citizens of Rio began complaining about the noise and mess they make, resulting in several community meetings and articles in The Stuart News. Ultimately, the peacocks were allowed to stay, although it appears that the population dwindled. -
