Stuart High School, c. 1926
Located at 500 Southeast Ocean Boulevard. The ground-breaking for the school was 12 October 1922; the school opened 21 September 1923. Ethel C. Youngblood was the first principal and approximately 300 students were enrolled grades 1 through 12. The school served as a school from 1923 to 1964.
Published in the South Florida Developer's Martin County Birthday Festival program of events (1926) with the caption "The New High School Building at Stuart." -

St. Lucie Locks, 1925
Lucie Lock and Dam, located along the St. Lucie Canal, approximately 15.5 miles upstream of the intersection of the St. Lucie River and the Intracoastal Waterway.
First lock was built at this site by the Everglades Drainage District in 1925.
Published in the South Florida Developer (28 July 1925) with the caption: "Draining the everglades - water rushing at the rate of 3,000 cubic feet per second over one of the locks on the St. Lucie Canal. This canal is one of five draining the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee, and carries more water than the other four combined. It is the key of the drainage system of inland Florida. The lock is six miles west of Stuart."
