Gaines Bridge, 1925
Concrete bridge built in 1923 over the south fork of the St. Lucie River on what was the Stuart-Annie Road, then Gaines Highway. The Gaines Highway Bridge is open only to pedestrians in 2026. Also known as the Humpback Bridge.

People being ferried to Treasure Island, 1926
Group of people cross the St. Lucie River on a cable raft to Treasure Island (in Halpatiokee Regional Park in 2026) participate in a "treasure hunt" event intended to spur interest in the River Forest real estate development. The treasure hunt was held on 13 March 1926 on Treasure Island.

Picnic at River Forest development, 1926
People gathered for a picnic lunch and treasure hunt event on "Treasure Island," (in Halpatiokee Regional Park in 2026) part of the newly established River Forest real estate development near Stuart. A treasure hunt event and lunch was held on 13 March 1926 to advertise the property.

McClure house, c. 1920
House belonging to William J. McClure located on Indian River Drive in Ankona (Ft. Pierce). William J. McClure purchased the 50 acre property in 1919 as a winter home and had the former house remodeled extensively; McClure also added a guest and yacht house to the property, along with an extended dock on the Indian River. The Fort Pierce Tribune (15 Jul 1919) described William McClure as "a prosperous hotel owner, having a fine property and hotel in Marcus Hook (PA)…." J. J. Pitchford purchased the property during the 1920s and it changed hands again to John Dordan in the 1930s.
