The bottom right panel includes the bar with its rounded counter design and many bar stool chairs. The center portion of the card has a sailfish jumping out of water.     The Sunrise Inn property was owned by Hastings Square Hotel Co. (president Fred S. Shock), which also owned Essex-Sussex Hotel at Spring Lake NJ, between 1963 and 1972.
  • Expansive view of 12,000 tires stacked up for the Stuart Sailfish Club's Edgar Ernst Artificial Reef project which began in 1971. A child lays across several of the tires in this shot. This set of tires was dumped offshore of Stuart in September of 1975. Front caption reads "It is not hard to get tired out just thinking about the thousands of manhours which went into the filling and stacking of these 12,000 tires for the Stuart Sailfish Club's Edgar Ernst Artificial Reef. The club plans to dump these tires starting September 1, five miles offshore." Back caption reads "These tires plus 25,000 already on the bottom at the reef site have been most successful. Our thanks for your help in improving Stuart's offshore fishing, Tires on our reef produce FOOD, FUN, FISH, and NO POLLUTION."

  • View of Martin County Hospital shortly after it opened in 1939. Palm trees and other plants in this image are fairly small and seem to have been planted around the time that the photo was taken. Message written in pencil from Jackie Lewis in Jensen Beach to Pat Gough in Chatham, New Jersey but postcard was never mailed.
