A copy of one of these images, owned by Tootsie Kindberg, has handwritten on back: "Charles Rue (as Texaco's Ed Winn of radio fame). Fire truck made by Charles Rue had wood burning stove, anchor, telephone and other things that didn't actually work. This was in the parade the day the Roosevelt Bridge opened. 1/9/34 The Fire Chief of Stuart at that time was Roscoe Bell (Russ Bell). His son, six year old Stauffer, rode in the parade with Charles Rue in this fire engine. - Charles Rue and Irving Fulton" -

Portrait of Anna Underwood Viles taken at the Bay Tree Lodge in Sewall's Point. Bay Tree Lodge was built by James Viles (Anna's husband), an industrialist from Chicago as a winter home for the couple. After the death of her husband in 1919, Anna no longer wanted the home, and it was subsequently sold in 1923.Tags Umbrellas -

Large crowd stands under umbrellas watching a church service or other ceremony in commemoration of Ponce de Leon landing in Florida in 1513. The celebration was first held in 1883 for the 370th anniversary and continued to be held in St. Augustine annually for many years staring around 1900. -
