Lakeside Park Motel and service station, located four miles south of Stuart on US 1. The motel was built in 1937, offering resort accommodations but the venture was short lived due to the start of WWII. Business at the motel began again from the early 1950s through the mid-1960s. In 1972, renovations began at the site to create a branch of Indian River Community College after the property's owner, John A. Roschman, donated it to the school. -

Stuart Hotel Coffee Shop, c. 1955
The Stuart Hotel Coffee Shop and parking lot. The Stuart Hotel Coffee Shop had its grand opening in 1953. Harold Hinkle (1905-1969) purchased The Stuart Hotel in 1951 and began a remodel of the building. Hinkle operated the hotel and coffee shop until selling it in 1966 and the buildings were subsequently demolished.
