He came across a baby loggerhead turtle entangled in seaweed. The incident inspired a career in marine biology with particular emphasis on sea turtles. This photograph taken by Ed Glucker in the early 1960s, shows Ross with a turtle hatched from an egg incubated at the House of Refuge Museum."
