Taylor turned over the first spadefuls of earth to initiate construction of the new Rio Baptist Chapel Sunday afternoon. Attending the ground-breaking ceremonies were (left to right) the Rev. Russell Kauffman, chapel pastor; A. C. Bridges Jr., the Rev. Ralph W. Acree, pastor of the Stuart Baptist Church; the Rev. Curtis Carr, E. A. Burgess, R. F. Longbottom; W. L. Sullivan, Wilson McClure, L. C. Kickliter, Garland Edenfield and W. A. Sumner."
