Description
Large building with signs: "Stuart Messenger" and "Messenger Building." The newspaper Stuart Messenger was founded by A.K. Wilson on 5 November 1915; in March 1917, it merged with the Stuart Times (the first newspaper in Stuart, having been founded on 18 April 1913 by Will Hawley Stevens). It continued printing under the banner of the Stuart Messenger until October 1925, when it was purchased by the Clyma family, this building on First and Albany was built, and it became the Stuart Daily News.
