Land survey, Winter 1924

Item

Title

Land survey, Winter 1924

Description

Man operates a transit and two men position a measurement rod on a piece of lumber sticking up from the ground. The piece of lumber looks to be part of building frame so the men might be laying the cornerstone for a building. A large document roll, possibly architectural plans, is also visible near the men. This survey may be associated with the construction of Marvista. Construction began on Marvista, the home of Hugh Willoughby II and Edythe Willoughby, in 1924. Marvista's construction was completed in 1925.
