Description
Man ascends the stairs of a building near a waterway with onlookers watching from a boat tied to the pier nearby. Photo published in the February 1923 issue of Power Boating magazine (volume XXV, No. 2). Edythe Willoughby contributed an article to this issue of the magazine, titled “Cruising Northward in the Spring” about traveling in their houseboat named “Dorothy” from Miami, Florida to Newport, Rhode Island. Edythe Willoughby’s article won second prize in Power Boating magazine’s Annual Prize Story contest. Photo captioned in the article as “The Haulover canal toll house.”
