"Anchorage basin - All but a small portion is deep water right now. Sunrise Inn at Port Sewall is shown in distance. Looking west, from the location of St. Lucie and Indian River. Only St. Lucie River water provides harbor where ships could safely anchor." Presented by the Stuart Commercial Club to the United States Government Engineers at a public hearing (16 Jan 1923) in Stuart, Florida as part of a report requesting aid for a deep water harbor.
