Boy Scout entry in parade on Flagler Avenue, 28 January 1926

Description

Truck carries a tent, and boy scouts walk alongside. In front of the Peacock-Arcade Hotel under construction. After hosting several businesses and being remodeled several times, the building was demolished in 1960 after a severe fire.

In celebration of the 1925 establishment of Martin County, the town of Stuart hosted a series of events on 28 and 29 January 1926, including a large parade. Governor John Wellborn Martin attended as special guest.
