Description

Studio portrait of Willie Jay Thompson wearing a dress shirt and tie. Thompson graduated from the Stuart Training School in 1956. In addition to serving as a school teacher in Martin County, Thompson also worked as a school play and musical director. He also founded the East Stuart Historical Society and collected oral histories from many East Stuart residents over the years. Thompson wrote several books on the local history of the area.
