Description

The House of Refuge and Gilbert's Bar from the beach in Stuart. Structure still has cedar shingles and the screen porch area had not been installed yet. Back caption reads " 'House of Refuge' Museum on Hutchinson Island/ Stuart, Florida/ Sentinel for safety for scores of years, historic lifesaving station 'Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge' is now a museum of pioneer history."
