Line drawing of Gilbert's Bar and House of Refuge. One of seven illustrations of county landmarks and points of interest along the Treasure Coast commissioned by First Fidelity Bank (1986-1990). Back caption reads "In 1876, then Houses of Refuge were built along the eastern seaboard. This is the last House of Refuge still standing. Originally for the refuge of seamen in distress, it served as a submarine watch tower during World War II and now is an historical museum and center for the propagation and study of giant sea turtles indigenous to this coast. One of a series of seven prints and postcards depicting historical landmarks and points of interest along the Treasure Coast of Florida. These illustrations are available exclusively through First Fidelity/Smart Money Centers."
