Description

Janet Theresa Krueger Dunscombe (1894-1976) in front of an orange tree. Detail of photo published in Sandra Thurlow's book, Stuart on the St. Lucie (p. 78), with the caption: " Janet Theresa Krueger referred to herself as the 'first white girl still living, born in Stuart.' She knew that another girl, Alwina Stypmann, was born earlier but drowned in the river when she was four years old.
