Swing set at Open Door School, 1972

Description

Two children on swings at the Open Door School playground. The Open Door School was established for children with disabilities around 1972. The school has locations in both the United Methodist Church of Stuart and at Warfield Annex in Booker Park. Mabel Witham served as the school's director and the school was funded by a federal grant and the annual "Buck-A-Cup" fundraiser sponsored by the Junior Woman's Club of Stuart. The Open Door School became part of the Martin County School System in 1976.
