Martin County High School junior, Michael Stone poses with his camera, telegram and the award winning photograph he captured. Stone won first prize in the 1960 Kodak High School Photo Contest as the telegram informs his as follows: "Congratulations. You have been awarded a $300 first prize in the national judging of the 1960 Kodak High School Photo Contest. Your school is being notified. Award material will be mailed to you next week = Betty Brearley Eastman, Kodak=" According to the Stuart News (16 Jun 1960), the winning photograph, entitled "Shear Agony" depicts a screaming child during a haircut and it was captured by Stone at the Longbottom Barber Shop in Stuart.
