Title

Lion's Club prepare fundraiser, 1954

Description

Several members of the Stuart Lion's Club help prepare for their "bag of bulbs sale." The Lion's Club held an annual door to door sale of light bulbs to help benefit the blind community during the 1950s and 1960s, using the slogan "Buy a light to help save a sight."

Published in the Stuart News (28 Oct 1954) with the caption: "Members of the Stuart and Jensen Beach Lions Clubs join to prepare for a sale of light bulbs with the theme of "buy a light and save a sight." Proceeds of the sale go to the clubs sight-saving funds. Final plans will be made when they meet tonight at Bartlett Brothers store here. Making distribution preparations here are (left to right) Albert Walker, Robert J. Peck Jr., John Dumich, George Parks Jr., Howard McCormick, J.W. "Bill" Berry, Fred Orman, J.F. Bozone, and Allen Decker."
