Chinchilla handling, 1954

Glenn DeBerry (left) holds a chinchilla as Harris Lowery, Jr. takes a good look at the animal. DeBerry and Lowery also partnered with Charles N. Roberts to start the Gold Coast Chinchilla Ranch, registering the business name in December of 1954 and setting up shop in the back of the Stuart Roofing Company building.
