Description
Two young people in wedding clothes, Sarah Josephine Kitching Taylor (1895-1987) and John E. Taylor (1892-1972). The couple were married on their shared birthday, March 10th. The bride's dress (according to her memoir) was satin charmeuse trimmed in beads and lace and a long satin train, and later worn by her daughter Emma and Emma's three daughters at their weddings.
This wedding dress was originally worn by Sarah Josephine Kitching Taylor (1895-1987) on her 10 March 1914 wedding day to John E. Taylor. It was then worn by:
- Emma Elizabeth Taylor (Josephine's daughter) for her wedding to Richard "Dick" Ashley on 10 March 1939,
- Josephine Marie Ashley for her wedding to Ronald Paradise on 22 November 1962 (Emma's daughter)
- Marjorie Elizabeth Ashley for her wedding to Robert Houmes on 30 Jan 1972 (Emma's daughter)
- Judith Winifred Ashley for her wedding to Larry Clark on 30 June 1972 (Emma's daughter)
- Joy Paradise for her wedding to Derek Tomei on 15 December 1990 (Jo Paradise's daughter)
