Description

Two men amid trees slashed to prep for sap harvesting. Johnston and McNeil operated a turpentine camp 16 miles south of Stuart, also called "naval stores." The process included "bleeding" the longleaf pine trees before cutting them down to produce resin.

Listed in Florida Photographic Concern record book 2 (p. 59) "8220 album series."
