Judge John C. Hancock, wife Mamie Hancock, son Fred Hancock and his wife Billie Hancock.
The older Hancocks arrived in Stuart in 1902, living on Atlanta Avenue, then removed to Jacksonville for their son's schooling before returning to Stuart before 1913. John C. Hancock was a justice of the peace, pineapple farmer, and opened Hancock Insurance Agency. The Hancock family were instrumental in establishing the Lyric Theatre. Mamie Hancock played piano there and also gave music lessons.
