  • Interior and exterior views of the Rambler train car. Caption: "Flagler's 'Overseas Railroad' was finished for his 83rd birthday, January 22, 1912. He came for the opening celebrations in his private car, Rambler, at the rear of the Extension Special, the first Miami-Key West train. The yellow and brown wooden car was built in 1886 by Jackson & Sharp. With its private stateroom and lavatory, its copper-lined shower, open-berth guest quarters and small but well-equipped kitchen, Rambler symbolized with luxury of Flagler's empire.   • The Ferdinand Magellan railroad car rebuilt by the Pullman Company with modifications and armor for President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Train car also used by Presidents Harry Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower. The Gold Coast Railroad Museum acquired the train car in 1958 after it was declared a surplus by the federal government. The Ferdinand Magellan was later loaned for use by President Ronald Reagan during his re-election campaign.

    The Ferdinand Magellan received a National Historic Landmark designation in 1985.
  • Seaboard train car. Caption on postcard reads "Passenger and Baggage Car #259 - One of the cars for your Sunday afternoon ride on the Gold Coast Railroad at the University of Miami's South Campus, operated by the Miami Railroad Historical Society. Take U.S. Hiway (sic) #1 south to Rockdale, turn west and follow signs."
  • Florida East Coast Railway train car. Caption: "The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, Whitehall Way, Palm Beach, Florida. The Rambler - Mr. Flagler's first private railroad car was outshopped in 1886, used extensively by Mr. Flagler until his death in 1913. The Rambler was in the vanguard of the first train to Key West in 1912. Was restored 1966, and opened to the public February 4, 1967. Visitors to the Museum will find in the Railroad Exhibit a complete pictorial history of the Rambler, its days of splendor, of decay and its restoration."
  • Alligator on a railcar. Caption: "The Alligator is a native of the Florida Everglades. For some time its skin has been fashionably used in the manufacture of bags, shoes, etc., and with this increasing use they had been hunted until they were almost extinct. To remedy this situation and supply the demand, several thriving Alligator farms are now in operation, when the breeding and care of alligators is the main industry."
  • Railroad car filled with bags of Certified Premier Peat Moss. Peat moss appears to have spilled out of the some of the bags.
  • Buildings in downtown Jensen before the 3 May 1908 fire, which destroyed most buildings in the town, including stores, warehouses, and train depot. James Neal General Merchandise in view on left and the Jensen Trading Co. is on the right (immediately behind the railroad tracks). The Jensen post office located next to the Trading Co. building.
  • Railroad platform at the sugar mill in Clewiston. Large claw-like crane for picking up sugar cane in view above the platform. Poor copy.
  • Published in the Stuart News (26 May 1955) under headline reading "County's Watermelon Production Total Passes Half Million." Caption included with photo reads "Trainloads Take Martin Melons To All Parts Of U. S. Here are a few of the 334 carloads of melons being shipped from Indiantown by Seaboard Air Line Railroad. Buddy Beech supervises loading from truck in foreground while the load in rear came from the Scott & Beard farm. An additional 60 carloads were shipped from Stuart."
  • Several workers load a railroad car with large squash or watermelon. Earl Dyer Ricou photograph published in the Stuart News (26 May 1955) under headline reading "County's Watermelon Production Total Passes Half Million." Caption included with photo reads "New Melon Variety Finds Favor. These are Charleston Greys being loaded into freight car at Indiantown. The variety, early ripening, fine flavored, an excellent shipper, is new to Martin County and met excellent grower response."
