  • Published in the Stuart News (12 Jun 1952) with caption "Metalcraft Plant Produces Art Objects. Salvatore Mete, Serge Nekrassoff and son, Boris, display art objects of copper and pewter being manufactured at the Nekrassoff & Son crafts shop just south of Stuart on U.S. 1. While utilitarian in nature, including bowls, cups, dishes, trays, vases, cigarette (sic) boxes, ash trays, pitchers and other items, the utensils are so skillfully and artistically made that they find a ready market in gift stores and exclusive shops. Nekrassoff recently moved the plant from Darien, Comm., to a new structure built on the site near the highway by Ralph Ulmer. Exiled White Russian, he learned metalwork in Paris before coming to the United States in the 1920s. Boris was a U.S. paratrooper in the invasion of Germany. Mete, a native of Norwalk, Conn., worked in the Darien shop for 20 years, is bringing his wife and daughters, Mary and Anna, and son, Salvatore, Jr., here to live. Two other sons are U.S. officers in Germany."
