  • Two men, unidentified and Rep. Marvin H. Rowell examine a chandelier that Rowell purchased during an auction of the furnishings at the abandoned Governor's Mansion in Tallahassee. The chandelier, one of two Rowell brought to Stuart, is believed to have been installed when the mansion was built. The antique was then donated to the Historical Society of Martin County.

Rowell is shown with an antique brass chandelier resting on a drum table, two of the five historical objects he purchases last week in brisk bidding at the auction of furnishings of the abandoned Governor's Mansion. The chandelier, one of two Rowell brought to Stuart, is believed to have been installed when the mansion was built. An antique hat rack which stood in the entrance and a Chaval mirror are in the collection which has been give to the Martin County Historical Society and will be used in a Florida room in the completed House of Refuge museum on Hutchinson Island. Rowell also is contributing repair and restoration work on the gifts."
