Dr. Julian Parker speaks with then Stuart mayor Jack Hartman at the dedication of J. D. Parker Elementary School held on November 11, 1961, which was also proclaimed "Dr. Parker Day" jointly by the County Commission and the mayor of Stuart. All those delivered by him were invited, and 1,500 attended. In conjunction with the school's dedication, Parker's wife is seated next to him and crowds visible in bleachers behind the couple. Dr. Parker arrived in Stuart in 1924 and retired in 1972. -

Published in the Stuart News (13 Dec 1956) with the following caption: "One afternon (sic) and two nights saw more than 3,000 visitors at the successful first annual Jensen Beach Homecoming at Langford-Hall Park Sunday through Tuesday. A happy carnival atmosphere prevailed, with food stands, a curio display for Jensen Scouts, and prizes, prizes, prizes in the almost continuous giveaway program."
