Mile Lake is a fresh body of water on the west side of the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, stretching into both Martin and St. Lucie Counties. For many years it served as one of the largest bass fishing waterways in the area. -

According to several articles in the Stuart News, this and other similar vehicles were referred to locally as "woods buggies" during their heyday from the late 1940s through the mid-1960s. Many of these vehicles were converted trucks or older automobiles, like the Ford Model A. -
