  • The Krueger Building, on Old Dixie Highway between 2nd Street (Joan Jefferson Way in 2024) and California Avenue, was built by Albert Paul "Bert" Krueger and completed in January 1925; the building was demolished in 1993. Businesses in this image include: Van Anglen and Sparks Real Estate, Bell Reality Company, Central Garage, Western Union, and Little Dixie Cafeteria and Inn. Building is decorated with bunting for the Stuart celebration of the establishment of Martin County, January 26-28, 1926.

  • The Hipson Building (33 SE Osceola Street), an Art Deco building designed by Frederick G. Sealman of Palm Beach. Dentist office in residence.
  • Kindred's first store, the "Superette" (1948-1961), was located near Confusion Corner. In 1961, the Kindred family opened this new 12,000 square foot building on Colorado Avenue. The store was sold by Henry G. Kindred (son of the founder, Henry A.) in 1966 and its name changed to "Great Valu Store."

    Signs on the front of Kindred's include a stylized reclining cow, the slogan "The Home of Lazy Aged Beef," and "Gold Bond Stamps."

    Highland Subdivision fronted on East Fourth Street (Ocean Blvd), adjoining the school property. The project was handled by the Florida Growers Inc.
  • Postcard of the F.E.C. railroad bridge across the St. Lucie River, Stuart, Fla. View of large building, train bridge, and landing pier for ferry, and bridgetender's house in upper right. The original wooden Florida East Coast railroad bridge, built in 1894, was replaced by a concrete and steel bridge in 1905. The "auto bridge" was not built until 1918.
  • Decorated cars in a parade, possibly Osceola Street. Business visible: Piggly Wiggly.
  • Man stands outside the George W. Parks general merchandise store (in 2023 Stuart Heritage Museum), built in 1901, which changed its name to Stuart Mercantile in 1913. The open veranda on the second floor was enclosed in 1910. Also visible is the railroad crossing and "Look out for the cars" signs.
  • House with four-pointed gable roof located on Colorado Avenue at the waterfront. Built in 1904 for Indiantown rancher Francis Marion and Annie Platt. Charles and Ethel Porter purchased the home in about 1910.
  • Cars parked in front of the F.L. Powell's Diner & Motel on U.S. 1 in North Stuart, about two miles north of the Roosevelt Bridge. The diner opened in 1949 and existed until at least 1970. Signs include food available, "tasty food," and "air conditioning optional."
