First auction held for flower growers in Florida. The auction took place in November of 1963 at the Armellini building on US 1. According to the Stuart News (31 Oct 1963), the auction was sponsored by Jack and Barbara Grier "to provide all Florida growers with a new sales medium that offers each grower a wider range of markets for his crops" and buyers registered from all over the country to attend.Tags Auctions -
