House in Jensen, c. 1920
Historic house in Jensen. Ransom and Gertrude Ricou lived in the house for a short time and their first daughter Anita Ricou Tilton was born in the home (1899), before the family moved to a two-story home built on property purchased from John Jensen. The building later became the office for Pitchford's By The Sea RV Park.

Jensen Pure Water Co. truck, c. 1930
The Jensen Pure Water Company truck parked in front of the water house. The truck is fitted with special shelving for transporting five gallon water jugs. The company started offering home delivery around 1931.
The Jensen Pure Water Co. was established by the Pitchford Brothers and the water was sourced from the well at J. J. Pitchford's house on Indian River Drive. Several soda fountains and restaurants in the area boasted about their use of Jensen Pure Water in the newspapers. Jensen Pure Water Co. also ran a variety of ads in the local papers during the 1920s and 1930s, including the example provided here, from the South Florida Developer (23 Sep 1927).

R. R. Ricou house in Jensen, c. 1925
Home of Ransom Ren Ricou (1867-1925) and wife Gertrude Ross Ricou (1870-1933). The property was purchased in 1899 from John Jensen and the large two-story home was built soon after. After Ransom's death in 1925, the house burned down and Gertrude had a cottage built in its place.
