Willis and Irene Ball family came to Stuart in 1903 with their two youngest children. Their eldest, Byron, had moved to the area in the 1890s. Willis was the town only jeweler for many years, a photographer, and served as Stuart city clerk. He moved to West Palm Beach in 1932 to live with his son Byron.
