Ladies portrait, c. 1940
Group portrait of women. Blanche Craig identified in the back (center). Pineapple cart tracks suggest that the photograph likely taken at the Old Dominion Pinery. According to the Stuart News, Blanche and John Isaac "Ike" Craig often entertained friends at their 40 acre pineapple plantation, which Craig purchased in 1908.
Note on back reads "Auntie in picture." -

George W. Parks General Merchandise store, c. 1920
Geo. W. Parks General Merchandise store with patriotic decorations. Name of store, painted on building, very faded.
The upper veranda of the building was enclosed in 1910 and the business name changed to the Stuart Mercantile store in 1913. Warehouse on north side present in the 1920 Sanborn map.
The building became the Stuart Feed Store during the 1940s and after the city of Stuart purchased the building in 1988, it became the Stuart Heritage Museum. -

Thomas Taylor (1867-1940), Julia Taylor Parks (1876-1933), her husband George W. Parks Sr. (1876-1943), and John Taylor (1869-1945) pose in front of citrus trees at the Thomas Bros. farm on the St. Lucie River in Stuart.
Thomas, John, and Julia are siblings who came to Martin County in about 1898 from Ireland. -
Sallie Gray Parks, c. 1895
Portrait of Sarah "Sallie" Gray Parks, local pioneer. Note on photograph states that it was captured near Parks' home in Stuart.
Sallie Gray married Benjamin Parks in 1868 and the couple settled on a homestead in the Stuart area during the 1890s. They had nine children, including George W. Parks (1875-1943), proprietor of an early general store in Stuart and Gulf Refining Company agent.

According to the Stuart Times (25 Apr 1913), John and Thomas Taylor (brothers to Julia Taylor Parks) owned a fruit farm on the St. Lucie River in Stuart. -
